The Last Days Before the First Days.

Sarah and Sarah Jane have spent the last few days on Main Street removing any trace of our existence there. It's been strange... a bit sad and a bit exciting. We're definitely going to miss our original neighborhood, neighbors and space. We're just so glad that we have such a beautiful new salon to reveal to you all in a few days time, and an exciting new neighborhood to call home.

There is nothing like smashing a few things to help deal with feelings.

Bye, Main Street!
We've loved you and we'll smell you later.

the salon that love built..

... or is building anyway...

we are so lucky to have such amazing friends.

our volunteers have helped us tremendously to make this move happen.
we got most of our furniture and fixtures in today and the space is really shaping up.
we would be about a million years behind schedule to open on Fraser if it weren't for our friends.

we LOVE YOU!

We're in the final phases!

I don't know about you, but I find renovating both terribly exciting and punishingly exhausting!

We began moving furniture we could live without from current to new Beehive today!
The painting is a day away from being complete.
We have running water and working lights in the new space on Fraser...
... and only three days left of actual hair-doing at 4385 Main Street!

At the end of these long days, I sometimes like to use the internet to ruin what's left of my brain and remind myself of why life is funny and fascinating. You know... to motivate me or whatever.
Here's a few gems I've uncovered.

Sharing is caring.
Love, Sarah Jane

what james franco did today was forwarded on to me by my friend Trevor Anderson.

this will make anyone's day better.

science is fascinating.

the best way to relieve stress is to kneed bread. the best recipe is here.

Brazilian No-Out

We're just as shocked and sad about the Brazilian Blowout news as anyone.

Because of the recent controversy surrounding the product, the Beehive is suspending the Brazilian Blowout service until the company and the feds give it the go-ahead.

In case you haven't been following the news, despite the company claiming a formaldehyde-free product, Health Canada found bad amounts of the f-word in the product. The company has done some of their own testing and thinks the product has been tampered with. They've issued a re-call and won't re-releasing the product to the public until it can pass all the regulatory standards... At which time, when the coast is clear, we shall blowout once again.

We are totally bummed about all of this, but have high hopes that the Brazilian Blowouters will make good on their word. We promise to keep our clients safe from harm, and to keep you informed.

Love, your pals at the Beehive.

Meet Debra!!!!!

The Beehive proudly welcomes our newest addition, Debra!
Debra comes to us with years of experience not only in salons, but doing hair for theater, film and tv as well! (She's also a make-up artist, yo.) She's talented and lovely, too. Find her behind her chair Wednesdays, Friday-Sunday.
